As first reported by the Daily Briefing, Arsenal have reached a complete agreement on a new contract that will see Bukayo Saka become the club’s highest earner.
The England international has been in positive negotiations with Andrea Berta for some time and has long been expected to follow in the footsteps of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães in signing a new deal.
Sources have told me that everything has now been agreed verbally and that some details still need to be approved before an announcement, which is expected to be closer to January.
Sources on Bukayo Saka’s new Arsenal contract agreement
I was told: “Saka has reached a complete agreement with the club on a new contract until June 2030.
“We are still finalizing image rights, bonus structures and media distribution. There are no issues. It’s just a calculated delay in line with Arsenal’s wider communications plans.”
I was previously told that both Saliba and Saka would be staying “100%”, and news of Saliba’s new contract followed shortly thereafter.
The same sources appear to be very confident that a deal for Saka is almost complete, even though an announcement doesn’t seem that imminent.
The importance of Bukayo Saka to Arsenal and England
Saka has been a mainstay in Arsenal’s first team ever since his breakthrough as a teenager and has gone from strength to strength since then.

The 24-year-old comes through Arsenal’s youth ranks, so it’s no wonder he wants to continue playing at the Emirates Stadium for even longer.
Saka has scored 76 goals in 277 appearances for Arsenal and 14 of his 48 caps for England, with the winger likely to be a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup squad next summer.
