Inside the 2025-26 NBA Trade Buzz: Latest Updates on LaMelo Ball, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Ja Morant, and More

Significant trades in the NBA during November are quite uncommon. About 28% of NBA players signed new contracts in the offseason, which means they cannot be traded until December 15th or January 15th, based on their signing dates. It’s only after the holiday season and once these dates have passed that trade activity heats up.

Although no headline-making trades seem imminent, discussions around potential trades are simmering in the league. Here’s an update on the key players involved in trade rumors:

LaMelo Ball: Is LaMelo looking to leave Charlotte? Opinions vary. Sources tell Yahoo Sports that Ball is growing increasingly unhappy with the Hornets and is open to being traded. Meanwhile, the Hornets appear hesitant to fully commit to building around him, though they have denied entertaining trade offers, preferring to assess their team’s health first. While there’s interest in Ball, worries about his injuries, defense, and his role as a franchise core might limit trade returns.

Ja Morant: Signs point to frustration within Memphis regarding Morant. The team is closely watching his availability as the trade deadline approaches, with some expecting a potential move. However, Morant’s decrease in explosiveness, reflected in his declining close-range shooting percentages, diminishes his trade value. This discrepancy creates a significant gap between what the Grizzlies hope for and what offers they might receive.

Anthony Davis: No trades will happen until Davis returns to the court and shows his form in Dallas. The Mavericks have indicated they want to win and initially said they won’t trade him, but buzz suggests they might be open to offers. His health and impending contract extension negotiations will influence his trade value. Unlike previous eras, Dallas is now more willing to listen to trade proposals, reflecting a shift in their approach.

Kyrie Irving: While Dallas might consider trading Davis, they are intent on keeping Irving despite trade interest from other teams. Irving is recovering from a torn ACL, and the Mavericks value his leadership and chemistry with other players. The team clearly needs him as their point guard, making a trade unlikely.

Trae Young: Trade talks are on hold as Young recovers from an MCL injury. Despite his absence, the Hawks have performed well, raising questions about Young’s future with the team. Other teams are watching closely, but no immediate moves are expected.

Jonathan Kuminga: Kuminga has struggled with a shooting slump and knee issues in Golden State, leading to a bench role. However, the Warriors signed him to a trade-friendly contract and plan to explore the trade market at the deadline. Coach Steve Kerr will likely reintegrate Kuminga to maximize trade value.

Giannis Antetokounmpo: Trade rumors about the Greek Freak have quieted down, partly due to his recent groin injury. While Milwaukee started strong and Giannis affirmed his commitment, his upcoming contract extension could reignite trade talk. For now, meaningful movement is unlikely unless the Bucks falter on the court.

Fan Take: This mix of growing dissatisfaction, injury concerns, and strategic shifts among star players highlights a turbulent yet potentially exciting period ahead in the NBA. For fans, these rumors signal possible major team shake-ups that could reshape the balance of power and redefine player legacies in the near future.
