In the final practice session for the 2025 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, George Russell led the field. The session proved challenging as the track began wet, prompting all drivers to start with intermediate tires. As the surface dried, Lando Norris took the gamble to switch to slick tires first, sparking a rapid drop in lap times. Russell and Max Verstappen battled for the quickest time, with Russell ultimately finishing FP3 ahead by just over two-tenths of a second.

Verstappen experienced a lock-up on his last lap before the long back straight, citing traffic issues. Williams maintained strong pace with Alex Albon securing third place. Isaac Hajar from Racing Bulls came in fourth, followed by Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, who trailed Russell by 1.2 seconds. Kimi Antonelli and Liam Lawson completed the top seven.

Both Aston Martins made it into the top ten, with Lance Stroll leading ahead of Fernando Alonso; Pierre Gasly also finished in the top ten. Charles Leclerc struggled and ended 15th after failing to improve his final attempt. McLaren’s drivers had a quiet session, with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris finishing 19th and 20th respectively, as they opted to stay in the pits.

Fan Take: This practice session highlights the intense competition and strategic risks teams are willing to take in variable conditions, setting an exciting tone for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. For racing fans, it signals an unpredictable and thrilling weekend ahead, with multiple contenders ready to challenge for the top positions.
