Top baseball stars like Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, and Mike Trout are known for their long home runs, but this season, a rising rookie power hitter stole the spotlight. Presented in collaboration with data scientist Kirk Goldsberry, here are the top 10 longest home runs of the 2025 season.

Tied at 10th place, Shohei Ohtani of the hit a 469-foot home run against the Brewers on October 17th in a historic game that secured the ‘ National League championship. Aaron Judge, who went on to win his third AL MVP, matched that distance in June with his 24th season home run, finishing the year with 53 homers alongside other 50-home-run hitters like Ohtani, Kyle Schwarber, and Cal Lowry.

In 9th place, Logan Ohoppe of the Angels crushed a 470-foot homer versus the Athletics on May 21st, showing early-season power before tapering off to end the year with 19 home runs. At 7th place (tied), Denzel Clark of the Athletics launched a 471-foot solo home run on July 4th in Sacramento, part of his modest three-homer season, while Riley Green of the Tigers also reached 471 feet with his first career grand slam on August 26th, finishing with 36 homers but leading the league in strikeouts.

6th place goes to Corbin Carroll of the Diamondbacks, who hit a career-long 474-foot shot against the Rockies on August 17th amid a solid 30-30 season. Byron Buxton of the Twins reached 479 feet against the Rangers on June 11th during a breakout year where he earned his second All-Star selection and his first career cycle.

Carter Jensen of the Royals ranks 4th with a 482-foot homer on September 28th, the longest in Royals history during the Statcast era, while Mike Trout appears twice with homers of 484 feet against the Giants in April and 485 feet against the Rockies in September, marking his 400th career home run.

The longest home run of the 2025 season belongs to rookie Nick Kurtz of the Track and Field team, a massive 493-foot grand slam against the Reds on September 14th. Known as “Big Amish,” Kurtz’s power display, including four homers in one game earlier, signals his strong case for American League Rookie of the Year and is the longest MLB home run in over two years.
