Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has admitted that Nawirou Ahmadah has no future at the Premier League club.

The 23-year-old has struggled to get minutes at Crystal Palace and would ideally leave the club in January. He will be desperate to get regular opportunities and get his career back on track, but it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

“He’s been training with the U-21 team the whole time,” Glasner revealed (h/t YahooSport). “Now it’s time to give him time.

“He tried to look for a club in the summer. We had talks but couldn’t find the right club.

“His contract ends next summer and I wish him the best to continue his career. We want to prepare for that and support him.”

“I don’t know if I’ll let him go free in January. That’s not my decision or my job.

“Clubs and players try to get the most money and new clubs try to pay the least amount possible. If we can find a solution, it will happen. If we don’t find a solution, it will happen in the summer.”

He has featured in two pre-season friendlies for Crystal Palace this season, but has not featured for the team in any competitive matches. The Frenchman is currently waiting to decide on his future before the January transfer window opens.

His contract expires at the end of this season, so he is currently playing for the club’s U-21 team. It makes no sense for Crystal Palace to keep him at the club when he could leave on a free transfer in the summer. It would be ideal for them to move the player for a nominal fee in January.

It will be interesting to see if he can secure the ideal move in the coming weeks. He needs a chance at this stage of his career and should aim to join a club where he will be a first-team player.
