Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin Surge Forward as Top Contenders in NASCAR Playoffs Second Round

Ryan Blaney continues to be a leading contender for the NASCAR Cup Series championship. Currently, Blaney and Denny Hamlin share top betting odds at +450 following the first playoff round. Initially, Blaney and Kyle Larson were co-favorites, but Larson’s chances have slightly diminished after the opening round.

Blaney aims to secure his second Cup Series title after his 2023 victory, while Hamlin pursues his first championship despite holding the record for the most wins without a title. Although Joe Gibbs Racing dominated the first round—with Chase Briscoe, Hamlin, and Christopher Bell each winning one of the three playoff races—Blaney remains the favorite to claim the championship.

For Sunday’s New Hampshire race, Christopher Bell is the favorite to win at +325, followed by Hamlin at +425 and Briscoe at +525. Hamlin boasts the best average finish among drivers at New Hampshire, with three wins and 19 top-10 finishes in 31 starts, averaging 9.9. Bell, the defending New Hampshire champion, has two wins and three top-five finishes in only five races at the track.

Larson’s odds have slipped from +425 to +475 after the first round, as Hendrick Motorsports has yet to match the speed of Joe Gibbs Racing. However, improvements could come in upcoming races at Kansas State and the Charlotte Roval. Bell ranks fourth in championship odds at +525, potentially offering the best value for bettors.

Alongside Blaney, his Team Penske teammates Joey Logano (+1600) and Austin Cindric (+3000) are also considered contenders, though Cindric and Bubba Wallace have some of the longest odds despite impressive recent top-10 finishes. Four drivers—Shane Van Gisbergen, Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, and Josh Berry—were knocked out in the first playoff round. Van Gisbergen, despite starting the playoffs with four wins and tied for most in the Cup Series, has struggled for top results on non-road courses this season.
