Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon to Miss 4-6 Weeks Following Grade 2 Right Hamstring Injury

The list of injured key players across the league continues to grow. Denver Nuggets’ starting power forward and essential team player, Aaron Gordon, is sidelined with a Grade 2 strain in his right hamstring and is set for a re-evaluation in four to six weeks. This was initially reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania and later confirmed by the Nuggets.

Gordon missed Denver’s recent game against Sacramento, with coach David Adelman only stating that Gordon would be out “for a while.” Currently, Gordon is putting up career-best numbers, averaging 18.8 points per game on 44.4% shooting, along with 5.9 rebounds, while playing a critical defensive role. More importantly, Gordon is the team’s key playmaker, and his absence was clearly felt during the loss to the Kings.

Additionally, the Nuggets face an extended absence of another starter, Christian Braun, who will miss at least three to five weeks due to a sprained ankle. This leaves Denver without two of its primary defenders, putting significant pressure on the bench. Injuries have pushed Peyton Watson into a larger role; initially a starter, he has responded well, averaging 14.8 points, 7 rebounds, and shooting an impressive 58.1% from the field. Spencer Jones also started in the Sacramento game, though it remains unclear if Coach Adelman will continue with this lineup.

Fan Take: This spate of injuries highlights just how crucial depth and adaptability are for a team’s success in the NBA. Fans should keep a close eye on how the Nuggets’ bench players step up, as their performances could redefine the team’s trajectory this season.
