  • Liverpool and Arne Slott begin serious negotiations
  • Who will replace Arne Slott if he is fired in January?
    • Xabi Alonso
    • Andoni Iraola
    • Jurgen Klopp

The crisis at Anfield has deepened significantly following another disastrous performance at the weekend, with Liverpool languishing in 11th place in the Premier League table.

The Reds have lost eight of their past 11 games in all competitions, and the pressure on head coach Arne Slott has reached a boiling point.

The defeat against Nottingham Forest has led to further speculation about Slott’s future at the club.

The Dutch manager has reportedly been given a deadline to turn things around.

Another X insider said he had heard from a source regarding the situation.

He said the situation at Liverpool’s hierarchy was considered to be strong enough to warrant formal intervention, with the club’s leaders reportedly “furious” over the recent downward spiral.

Officials say the silence in the boardroom is about to be broken. The source revealed that the club’s decision-makers are “not satisfied” with the club’s performance in recent months and are planning urgent talks with the Dutchman.

Insiders revealed that Mr. Slott was in no danger of being fired immediately today. Executives reportedly still believe Slott is technically eligible, but their patience is not limitless.

The next meeting will be a final warning, and the board will “seek immediate improvement in the results.”

The message is clear. Slots are given time to turn the ship around. However, sources have warned that replacing the head coach will be a concrete option “if results do not improve in the coming weeks”. Slott’s job, once considered safe, is “no longer safe.”

Who will replace Arne Slott if he is fired in January?

The clock is ticking and speculation has already begun as to who could take the hot seat if the slots fail to survive the winter.

Xabi Alonso

Xabi Alonso remains the candidate for many supporters. The former Liverpool midfielder is currently the manager of Real Madrid, but reports from Spain suggest his tenure at the Bernabéu is about to take a turn for the worse.

According to the latest reports, Alonso is starting to lose the Madrid dressing room, with major stars reportedly unhappy with his demands.

He was reported to have been one of the candidates to replace manager Jurgen Klopp last summer, but the club ultimately opted for the slot and he delivered immediate results last season.

However, if Alonso’s situation in Spain becomes untenable and Slott is unable to turn things around at Anfield, a move to Liverpool cannot be ruled out.

Andoni Iraola

Another name linked to his sending off is Andoni Iraola. The Bournemouth manager continues to impress on the south coast, punching above his weight with a ferocious style that reflects the heavy metal football that Liverpool fans adore.

His Premier League experience could make him a safer and more immediate appointment than a foreign gambler.

Jurgen Klopp

Perhaps the most sensational choice would be the short-term return of Jurgen Klopp. The German leaves on holiday in 2024, but the desperate nature of Liverpool’s current predicament has led to whispers of an interim role to ‘steady the ship’.

Klopp himself refused to completely rule out a future return to Liverpool in a recent interview, further fueling speculation.
