Motocorsa Ducati has revealed that Alberto Sula will be joining their team as a replacement for Ryan Vickers in the 2026 WorldSBK season. Sula, a rookie with Motocorsa, will take on consecutive World Superbike races after the team decided to part ways with Vickers due to unsatisfactory performance, a decision announced during the 2025 Estoril round.

The Italian rider finished the latter part of the 2025 World Supersport (World SSP) Championship riding an Evan Brothers Yamaha, stepping into the premier class of the production-based series after replacing Ardi Mahendra, the 2024 World SSP300 champion, at Magny-Cours. During his partial Supersport season, Sula reached the podium in the opening race at Magny-Cours, and secured his best finishes as fifth place in the second race at Estoril and in race one at Jerez. He also brings valuable experience from competing in eight Moto2 World Championships in 2023 and 2024, as well as participation in the European Championship in 2025.

Expressing his excitement, Sula said, “I’m very grateful for this opportunity from Team Motocorsa Racing and Lorenzo Mauri. With three years of experience across Moto2 and the Supersport World Championship, I’m eager to take this significant step forward with a team committed to my growth in this category. I’m confident we’ll achieve great success, and I’m thrilled to get started on what promises to be a season full of development.”

Fan Take: This move is significant for racing fans as it introduces fresh talent into the WorldSBK arena, shaking up the competition with new energy. Sula’s progression from Moto2 and Supersport to WorldSBK highlights the sport’s ability to nurture emerging riders, promising exciting races and growth for the championship.
