Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Ebelesi Eze following his heroics in the north London derby at the weekend.

The England international joined the Gunners from Crystal Palace in the summer and has become an increasingly important player for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Despite taking some time to fully settle in, Eze now has five goals and two assists, including an incredible hat-trick against Tottenham on Sunday.

Arsenal fans will be delighted with Eze’s form and Scholes is clearly a big fan of his.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, Scholes revealed how highly he rates Eze, describing him as a “fantastic footballer” and someone worth £100m.

Scholes also praised Eze’s personality, saying: “He just seems like a nice guy, right? There’s nothing cocky about him, he’s just a great football player.”

“Probably what was missing from his game was goals. When he goes to a club like Arsenal, he has to start winning games.

“He needs to win games and get points for Arsenal and he is doing that now. If he can continue to do that he could become a £100m player.”

Eze is a lifelong Arsenal fan and was obsessed with Arsenal books as a boy before his release.

Remarkably, he is set to return to the Emirates Stadium this summer after an impressive turnaround in his career.

Eze also played for Fulham, Millwall and Reading after underperforming in his first try at Arsenal.

But it was at Queens Park Rangers that Eze really made his breakthrough, and his form in the Championship prompted Crystal Palace to sign him.

The 27-year-old became a star player for the Eagles, scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley and becoming a legend at the club at the end of last season.

Arsenal have moved to bring Eze back after this, but he appears to be really enjoying his football under Mikel Arteta.
