Stephen Curry to Sit Out Minimum One Week Due to Quadriceps Strain, Injury Not Severe

Warriors fans might actually find some silver lining in recent news. Stephen Curry is likely to be sidelined for at least a week, possibly longer, due to a quadriceps strain, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. This update comes after statements from the Warriors and head coach Steve Kerr following Wednesday’s game.

Kerr expressed some relief upon learning about the injury, saying, “When I heard it was a quad, I was really relieved. It was better than hurting my ankle or knee.” Curry had to leave the game with just 32.5 seconds remaining, limping directly to the locker room.

If Curry is out for a week, he will miss at least three upcoming games: home matches against New Orleans and Oklahoma City and an away game in Philadelphia. Currently, Curry is averaging 27.9 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting. His role remains central to Golden State’s offense, which has struggled significantly without him, declining by 10.8 points per 100 possessions. This is alarming given the Warriors’ offense is already ranked in the league’s bottom 10.

Additionally, the Warriors, who have a 10-10 record, are coping with injuries to Jonathan Kuminga, DeAnthony Melton, and Al Horford.

Fan Take: Curry’s injury is a major setback not only for the Warriors but for basketball fans who thrive on his dynamic playstyle. How the team manages during his absence could reshape the season and test their resilience, impacting the excitement and competitiveness of the league.
