  • Bernardo Silva is wanted by Milan and Juventus
  • Man City star could head to Italy next year

Bernardo Silva’s future in the Premier League is uncertain, with Calciomercato reporting that Juventus and AC Milan have made initial contact with the Manchester City playmaker over a possible summer move.

The Portugal international’s contract with City is due to expire at the end of this season, and several top clubs are on high alert as he approaches free agency.

At 31, Silva remains one of Europe’s most technically gifted and tactically intelligent midfielders, and his versatility and experience make him an essential player in Pep Guardiola’s system.

But after seven trophy-filled years at the Etihad, including five Premier League titles and the Champions League, the midfielder may now be looking for a new challenge.

Bernardo Silva is wanted by Milan and Juventus

According to Italian sources, both Juventus and AC Milan see Silva as an innovative signing who can immediately take the team to another level.

Juventus, managed by Luciano Spalletti, are rebuilding with a focus on creativity and control in midfield, which Silva embodies perfectly.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are preparing for a busy summer season and reportedly see the Portuguese star as a potential player who can add balance, leadership and Champions League-winning pedigree to their dressing room.

However, it is Silva’s hefty salary package that remains a major stumbling block for both clubs. The playmaker currently earns around €10 million a season in net income at Man City, a figure that neither Juventus nor Milan can easily match given their current financial constraints.

Negotiations are expected to hinge on whether Silva accepts a pay cut in exchange for a starring role and long-term security in Serie A.

Despite huge profits from Saudi Arabia, Silva is understood to want to remain in Europe, prioritizing competitiveness and legacy over economic gain.

Adding to the intrigue, Silva has previously expressed his admiration for Italian football, praising Serie A’s sophisticated tactics and emphasis on intelligent play.

His potential arrival would mirror the late-career moves of superstars such as Luka Modric, who moved to the Italian league in the summer, and former City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne.
