On Thursday, Coach Massimiliano Allegri indicated that Christian Pulisic is expected to miss AC Milan’s Serie A match against Lazio this weekend.

The American forward, who recently returned from a hamstring issue, did not train on Wednesday due to mild muscle discomfort, according to reports from Italy.

During his pre-match press conference, Allegri expressed skepticism about Pulisic’s ability to recover in time for Saturday’s game. “It seems unlikely that Pulisic will play, but there are still two days left before the match, so anything can happen,” he stated.

Pulisic previously experienced a minor tear in his right hamstring during the first half of the U.S. men’s national team’s 2-1 friendly victory over Australia on October 17.

He made his comeback on November 8, coming off the bench in a 2-2 draw against Parma.

Though he was not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for matches against Paraguay and Uruguay in November, he started and scored the only goal in last weekend’s derby win against Inter.

AC Milan will host Lazio on Saturday and is currently two points behind Serie A leaders Roma.

Fan Take: This news is crucial for soccer fans as Pulisic’s presence on the field can significantly influence AC Milan’s performance and standings in Serie A. His potential absence not only impacts the team’s immediate chances but also raises concerns about his fitness heading into the World Cup, highlighting the delicate balance players face between club commitments and national duty.
