The Indiana Fever recently completed a season that saw them advance to the semifinals of the WNBA Playoffs, despite missing key postseason contributions from players Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Aari MacDonald, Sydney Colson, and Chloe Bibby. In her first year back as head coach, Stephanie White guided the team with resilience throughout the season. As the offseason progresses, both players and coaches are balancing some rest with additional responsibilities. On Monday, the Fever announced that Clark, forward Aliyah Boston, and coach White will be involved with the USA Basketball Women’s National Team. Clark and Boston have been named to the team’s training camp roster, where they will join 16 other players, including notable Olympians like Carlea Copper, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young. Meanwhile, Stephanie White will be serving as one of the team’s court coaches. The training camp will take place at Duke University from December 12th to 14th and will also feature several players making their senior national team debuts, such as Lauren Betts, Paige Backers, Cameron Brink, Angel Reese, and JuJu Watkins. White will assist under head coach Carla Lawson during the camp.

Fan Take: This announcement highlights the growing prominence of the Indiana Fever’s key players and coaching staff on the national stage, signaling strong development within the franchise. For WNBA fans, this involvement in USA Basketball bodes well for the sport’s continued growth and competitive depth, promising exciting talent for future international competitions.
