  • Mikel Arteta has built a strong team at Arsenal
  • Gunners are struggling with injuries to key players

As the January transfer window approaches, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stressed the club’s readiness to make a move if necessary, saying the door is open to potential signings depending on the team’s needs.

The Gunners have been in charge of the Premier League and Champions League this season.

Arteta’s side led the standings in both competitions, cementing their status as one of the best teams in Europe and arguably England’s best.

They showed consistency, defensive prowess, and the ability to win even in unfavorable situations.

Mikel Arteta has built a strong team at Arsenal

Arteta invested heavily in the squad during the summer transfer window, bringing in players such as Noni Madueke, Victor Gokeres and Ebelesi Eze.

He admitted that the club could now jump into the transfer window again in January if they need to strengthen their squad.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Arsenal manager said:

“We always have to be prepared, we have to be open to it.

“So we don’t know, but we’re definitely on guard and we know where there could be risks in terms of the team and we’re ready in case we have to do something.”

Injuries and fixture congestion have taken a toll on Arsenal this season. There were times when key players were absent from games, and the team’s strength was strained.

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and Martin Odegaard have all missed games this season due to injury, but Arteta’s side have still been able to cope with the challenges.

He has added depth to the squad this season, something that has been lacking in previous campaigns.

His admission that he could sign more players in January should serve as a warning to Arsenal’s Premier League rivals.

He continued to focus on the current players and reiterated that additions must truly improve the team.
