Sunderland are rumored to be interested in signing French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Sunderland are targeting a 26-year-old central midfielder as they look to add more quality and depth to the center of the park.
Newcastle are also interested in signing Guendouzi.
Will Guendouzi aim to return to the Premier League?
The Lazio midfielder has been linked with a move from Italy and it will be interesting to see if he returns to the Premier League. Sunderland have already made contact with the Italian club about a possible transfer. Lazio are willing to sell the midfielder for a transfer fee of around 25-30 million euros.
Sunderland could use more control and defensive cover in the center of the park, and the French midfielder could be an ideal player for them. He has previously played in the Premier League for Arsenal and Aston Villa. He knows the league well and will be able to fit in quickly and make an immediate impact.
