  • Will Guendouzi aim to return to the Premier League?
  • Le Bris knows Matteo Guendouzi well

Sunderland are rumored to be interested in signing French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Sunderland are targeting a 26-year-old central midfielder as they look to add more quality and depth to the center of the park.

Newcastle are also interested in signing Guendouzi.

Will Guendouzi aim to return to the Premier League?

The Lazio midfielder has been linked with a move from Italy and it will be interesting to see if he returns to the Premier League. Sunderland have already made contact with the Italian club about a possible transfer. Lazio are willing to sell the midfielder for a transfer fee of around 25-30 million euros.

Sunderland could use more control and defensive cover in the center of the park, and the French midfielder could be an ideal player for them. He has previously played in the Premier League for Arsenal and Aston Villa. He knows the league well and will be able to fit in quickly and make an immediate impact. Villa are also keen to have him back.

Furthermore, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris worked with the player during his time at Lorient and could be able to get the best out of the 26-year-old. The midfielder also knows his style of football well and should be able to adapt quickly at Sunderland.

The Black Cats have performed very well since promotion and have started the season in great fashion. They will be aiming for a solid or respectable finish in the Premier League table.
