The San Jose Sharks seemed overwhelmed by the Dallas Stars in their recent matchup, falling 4-1 at the American Airlines Center. The Stars (18-5-5) made a strong third-period surge with goals from Jason Robertson, Sam Steele, Mikko Rantanen, and Miro Heiskanen, while Jake Oettinger blocked 16 shots to secure the win. Colin Graf scored the lone goal for the Sharks (13-12-3), with Yaroslav Askarov making 20 saves.

The Stars took an early lead when Robertson netted his 18th goal off a rebound from Wyatt Johnston’s powerful shot. The Sharks briefly evened the score through Graf on a Nick Leddy rebound in the second period, but Dallas dominated the final frame. Steele, persistent near the goal, scored his fourth goal by reclaiming his own rebound. Rantanen added his third goal of the game with an accurate wrist shot, and Heiskanen capped the night with an empty-net goal.

Dallas outshot San Jose 24-17 and converted two of three power-play opportunities, unlike the Sharks, who failed to score on all four of their chances. The Sharks will face the Carolina Hurricanes next at the Lenovo Center on Saturday with the puck dropping at 2:00 PM PT.

Fan Take: This game highlights the importance of resilience and finishing power in hockey, with the Stars showcasing clinical execution in the crucial moments. For fans, it signals that momentum shifts and strong late-period performances could be decisive this season, making every game thrilling to watch.
