  • Mohamed Salah may have said goodbye to away fans
  • Will the game against Brighton be his last for Liverpool?

As Mohamed Salah’s searing interview dominates the back pages after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United, new fan footage has emerged suggesting the Egyptian king had already made his decision before a microphone was shoved in his face.

The video, which went viral on social media platform X, shows Salah walking up to the away supporters and appearing to bid them farewell.

While the headlines focus on his verbal attack on the club’s hierarchy, this silent gesture provides the emotional context to confirm that his subsequent comments were calculated rather than a momentary moment.

Mohamed Salah may have said goodbye to away fans

The video, uploaded by spectator Chloe Bloxham, was taken shortly after the final whistle.

As his teammates trudged off the pitch, disappointed by Leeds’ late equalizer, Salah, who had not featured for the entire 90 minutes, went out of his way to walk to the section containing the traveling Liverpool supporters.

In the footage, Salah can be seen standing alone, looking towards the away side. He raised his hands and gave a long, deliberate wave.

Unlike the customary applause that players give fans after games, this gesture seemed surprisingly sombre and prolonged. He not only thanked them for their support; He seemed to be enjoying it.

Fans on social media quickly realized its significance. One user commented, “This isn’t a ‘thank you for coming’ wave, it’s a ‘thank you for everything’ wave.”

His slow, deliberate, emotional body language perfectly matches the bombshell he makes minutes later. There, he claimed he had been “thrown under the bus” and that his relationship with manager Arne Slott had been reduced to zero. He also said that there are people within the club who are trying to force him to leave.

The footage suggests that when Salah stood in front of the fans, he had already accepted that his time at the club was coming to a premature end.

Will the game against Brighton be his last for Liverpool?

The viral footage adds a layer of harsh closure to Salah’s specific comments about Liverpool’s next match.

In an interview, he clarified, “I called my mom yesterday… and said, ‘Come to the Brighton game, it doesn’t matter whether you play or not.'” The match will be at Anfield, so we’ll be saying goodbye before heading to the African Cup of Nations. Let’s see what happens. ”

Looking at the timeline, that seems more and more likely. Liverpool play Brighton at Anfield next weekend, which will be Salah’s last game before he departs for the AFCON on December 15th.

The game against Brighton is shaping up to be his swan song after the January transfer window opened while the player was on international duty, with reports claiming Liverpool were “furious” and demanding an apology.

If the bosses decide to cash in on Salah in January, or if his relationship with Slott is deemed irreparable, Salah will never wear a red shirt again after next Saturday.

The Elland Road wave may go down in history as the moment when the reality of the end of the Egyptian king’s reign began.
