LeBron James is approaching 41 years old, so it’s understandable that he isn’t dominating every game like he used to. However, he still knows how to make an impact, as the Philadelphia 76ers discovered on Sunday night. Just two games after ending his 1,297-game streak of scoring double digits by putting up only eight points, James scored 10 straight points in the fourth quarter against the Lakers, leading Los Angeles to a 112-108 road win.

His scoring run helped increase the Lakers’ lead to 102-98. With the score tied at 105 and 1:11 left, James received a pass from Luka Doncic and sank a clutch three-pointer, giving the Lakers the lead. On their next possession, James drove past defender Quentin Grimes and hit a fadeaway jumper from the elbow, putting the Lakers ahead 110-105 and sealing the victory, much to the surprise of the Philadelphia fans.

This stellar performance came after James’ earlier struggle against the Toronto Raptors, where Austin Reeves scored 44 points, while James had a tougher night and Doncic was absent. On Sunday, James showcased his skills with 29 points, seven rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal, shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc. The Lakers’ stars, including Doncic who had a triple-double with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists, shared the workload effectively, confirming the team’s strong potential despite some uncertainties about their on-court chemistry.

Reeves has also been a reliable contributor for the Lakers, keeping the team competitive when key players miss time. While the Lakers’ roster might not be as deep as other top Western Conference teams, their profound star power at the top has helped them maintain their position as one of the best teams in the West. Importantly, James has proven he can still lead the Lakers to victory, even on nights when he’s not at his absolute best.

Fan Take: This game is a reminder that LeBron James, even nearing 41, remains a force to be reckoned with, showing fans his enduring greatness. For basketball lovers, it signals that the sport’s excitement endures as legends continue to compete at the highest level, blending experience with new talent for thrilling outcomes.
