Jamie Carragher and Mohamed Salah are back in the headlines after Sky Sports pundits slammed Liverpool’s attackers on Monday Night Football.
Salah caused a huge stir on Saturday with a shocking interview in which he accused someone at the club of throwing him under the bus.
This came after Slott was left on the bench for the third consecutive game in Liverpool’s game against Leeds at Elland Road.
The aftermath of Salah’s comments can only be described as chaotic. A secret meeting was held in Liverpool on Sunday, with leaders reportedly deciding to remove Salah from the squad and allow him to travel to Italy.
Much was reported in the media, with Liverpool-based media condemning Salah’s outburst.
Jamie Carragher, 33, was also keen to seize the opportunity. Carragher, who has a history of harshly criticizing Salah, went on an eight-minute rant on Monday Night Football, calling him a “disgrace” and hurling a number of personal attacks at the Egyptian winger.
His rant on Sky Sports has gone down badly with Liverpool supporters, with fans taking to social media to slam their own legend for his ridiculous views on one of Liverpool’s all-time great players.
Liverpool fans condemn Carragher’s comments on Salah
Fans were quick to condemn Carragher’s comments.
Some expressed surprise at Carragher’s failure to win against Egypt and downplaying his past with Cherea. One person said: “Shame on you. It’s shameful to call a Liverpool legend a ‘reject’ of Chelsea and bring up Egypt who didn’t win the Afcon with him. He won us the league twice. He’s done more for the club than you.”
Some fans acknowledged that the former Liverpool defender made some valid points about Salah, but they were overshadowed by the blatant personal attacks.
One said: “Some valid points are overshadowed by some comments that are clearly personal to you. Proving Salah’s point to the fullest.”
Another said: “He had some valid points, but like always he didn’t know when to stop so he was overshadowed by the low blows. He’s playing to the gallery. It’s like he’s enjoying the attention and thrill of using his platform to feed on these guys. The whole thing was unpleasant. Mo is a legend.”
