If you want to know how much frivolous It’s your own – if you want to stare straight into the dizzying chasms of your own materialism – I have the perfect solution.
Move across the country.
To be honest, when I decided to move to Park City, Utah, I felt pretty good about the condition of my belongings. I lived in New York City for nearly five years, and the spatial realities of that lifestyle meant my closets were small and my cupboards remained empty.
I rarely bought new clothes. I frequently emptied drawers and donated unused items. The only earthly possessions I acquired in bulk, other than underwear and socks, were old photocopied books. new yorker. i was alive leanbaby.
But the day came when I realized I had to fit most of my earthly possessions into half the trunk of my 2011 Toyota Highlander…and my life changed.
I organized my belongings. Then we integrated it again. Then the third time. And the fourth. I finally arrived at the right amount on the 5th sharpening. It was unsettling to see how much of what I had previously needed was left (I still fondly recall memories of an immersion blender when faced with chunky soups), but it was oddly thrilling to see what I had made of it. in.
What is the list of items that can be packed in my carry-on baggage? these It was my vehicle, a possession that survived mass attrition. In case of a zombie apocalypse, these are the items I can confidently say will travel with me.
they were great Either Because they did something essential that cannot be imitated, or because they imitated it. so many One that couldn’t justify leaving them behind. Listed below are these items where versatility meets substance.
1. Normatec boots
Last year I first wrote about Normatec’s leg compression boots and was surprised to learn how many golf fans had never heard of this product. These space-age, LeBron-approved recovery products are my favorite after a long day on the course or a long workout at the gym. The pants are essentially large balloons that are trained to inflate and deflate in specific patterns to promote blood flow and speed recovery. What is the secret sauce? dynamic compression technologypromotes circulation, flushes out metabolic waste, and mimics the natural muscle “pump.”
This is the product I was most worried about, including the packaging, so I would recommend this product first. At the time, it felt like a big deal to give up trunk space in the name of recovery. But since arriving in the West, all the initial headaches have proven to be worth it. The pants have been part of my weekly routine, and now that we’re in the offseason, they’re also a great way to stay fresh between rounds on 36-hole days or multi-round weekends.

Most of Rhone’s athleisure gear falls at the intersection of my tastes: high quality, understated, and non-traditional, and these pants are at the top of the list. 3.Stio Hometown Down Jacket
10 years ago, I made the worst big decision of my life and decided to move to Syracuse for 4 winters to attend school. For the uninitiated, Syracuse is one of the snow capitals of the world. Winter lasts from October to May and is endlessly cold and forever gray.
I entered the golf industry largely because I suffered from freezer burn during my time with the Cuse, and realized that even though my career had taken me to greener (and warmer) pastures, I was still stuck in the coldness of my youth. I was so scared of winter and hated dressing up to play golf in the cold that I almost never played golf when the temperature dropped below 50 degrees.
Earlier this year, with the arrival of winter, I was gifted a jacket that changed my worldview: the Stio Hometown Down Jacket. Stio says the Hometown Down is a “midweight jacket,” and I can attest that I’ve already had no trouble wearing it in temperatures well below freezing. It doesn’t take long to understand why this is so popular among people in cold climate regions. It’s thick, but not too big, and lightweight enough to wear for a variety of activities. If you’re planning on going to a sporting event in the cold, or spending the winter on the golf course until it snows, we can confidently say that the Stio is the best bang for your buck.

4. Important supplements
To be honest, I’m not a fan of supplements. It took me years to get to the altar of protein powders, and even more years to get into my recent obsession with creatine.
Part of the reason for my lukewarmness was that I was resentful feeling Like gym buddies. My brother (who is studying to be a doctor) often reminds me that for most people, eating a moderately broad diet is enough. Adding powder and a chunky bottle of water seemed like a great way to lose the little dignity I was still clinging to with meager gains.
But then I found Momentus. Their branding is subtle (sensing a theme here?), their recipes are minimalist, and their standards are top-notch. I still don’t carry around bulky water bottles or string tank tops, but their products make me feel strong and energized without feeling uncomfortable.

5. Arc’teryx Proton Jacket
A funny thing happens when you get deeply involved in the world of golf. You’ll find that some of the best golf clothing brands don’t necessarily market to golf. Arc’teryx hiking and outdoor gear is some of the best all-weather golf equipment on the market.
Well, I don’t know if I recommend it or not. intentionally I don’t know if the Proton Hoody is suitable for walking in a rainstorm or as a one layer solution on a 35 degree day. However, if something were to happen while wearing the Proton hoody, I think it’s a great thing to be able to survive in just one piece. That’s what the Proton Jacket is all about. Its value comes from its ability to adapt to all potential Scottish weather patterns. This means the packing process saves space in your carry-on (or trunk).

6. Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker
I don’t replace my portable speakers as often as the president of the United States changes, so when it finally came time to buy new speakers over the summer, I took the job seriously.
I ended up buying a Bose SoundLink Flex (on sale for about $100 over the holidays). I’m really glad I bought it. The product is essentially indestructible (water and dust proof), the battery lasts 12 hours at a time, and the sound quality is good enough to fill a foursome on the other side of the fairway in the summer (though you might think you might not want to play at that volume).

7. Blue Tees Portable Speaker
I don’t own this speaker, nor have I traveled with it, but I’m including it on this list for a simple reason. I watched a friend drive three hours through rural Michigan to retrieve this speaker from a track where he had accidentally left it behind. If that’s not a thorough recommendation of a product, I don’t know what is.
