  • Arsenal could be forced to sell key players
  • Manchester United are planning a surprising move

A big transfer storm could be brewing in English football, with Manchester United reportedly preparing a sensational move for Arsenal prodigy Ethan Nwaneri.

According to X’s reliable sources, the 18-year-old midfielder, who has long been regarded as one of Arsenal’s best academy talents, is said to be growing frustrated with his lack of first-team appearances, and United are hoping to take advantage of the situation.

Arsenal could be forced to sell one of their most valuable young players in order to comply with Premier League financial regulations ahead of next summer, according to reports emerging from London.

The Gunners have spent big in the recent transfer window, bringing in big-money signings such as Eberechi Eze, Victor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke.

Arsenal could be forced to sell key players

They are currently under pressure to make ends meet before pursuing further reinforcements at the top.

The club is exploring various options to raise funds and could potentially sell senior players, but offloading a homegrown talent like Nwaneri would provide a net accounting benefit, which is an important factor under the Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).

Old Trafford manager Ruben Amorim is believed to be highly aware of Nwaneri’s potential.

Sources close to the Portuguese tactician say he considers the teenager to be an ideal creative midfielder on which to build for the future, comparing his technical intelligence to Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

Man United have been monitoring Nwaneri for several months and are reportedly willing to make a formal approach if Arsenal are open to negotiations.

If Nwaneri were to move to Old Trafford, it would instantly rank as one of the most controversial transfers in Premier League history and could be the biggest direct transfer between the two clubs since Robin van Persie’s surprise move in 2012.

Arsenal fans who have followed Nwaneri’s development through Hale End’s academy since joining the club as a nine-year-old will be furious at the idea of losing one of their most talented prospects to their historic rivals.

Sources claim Nwaneri is “fed up” with his stagnant progress and is prepared to reassess his future if guarantees on playing time are not provided soon.
