Weston McKennie Strikes as Juventus Inches Closer to Champions League Playoff Seedings!

Juventus has narrowed the gap to a playoff seeding position in the UEFA Champions League after a victory that featured two goals from top CONCACAF players, Weston McKennie and Jonathan David.

McKennie, representing the U.S. national team, opened the scoring in the 67th minute against Paphos. He received the ball inside the penalty area, skillfully maneuvered past a defender with a powerful second touch, and fired it into the top right corner of the net.

With two goals in his last two Champions League matches for Juventus, McKennie also found the back of the net in a 2-1 victory against FK Bodø/Glimt in November. All of his goals this season have been in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Jonathan David from Canada scored the second goal for Juventus in the 73rd minute. He now holds the record for the most Champions League goals by a Canadian player, with a remarkable total of 12, leaving the next closest player with just five.

Currently, Juventus is just one point shy of a playoff seeding for the Champions League finals, which would grant them the advantage of hosting the second leg of their knockout round matchup at home. They sit in 7th place in Serie A and will face Bologna next on Sunday.
