  • Chelsea ready to let Raheem Sterling go
  • Sterling could be useful for Leeds

Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

He is not wanted by the London club and is unlikely to get regular minutes.

Naturally, he has links with other clubs. Leeds United are one of the clubs linked with the player and will face Crystal Palace.

Chelsea ready to let Raheem Sterling go

Meanwhile, manager Enzo Maresca opened the door for the player to leave in January, insisting that the player could be on the move.

“With Raheem, it’s again what I said about Axel (Disasi). They’re Chelsea players. It’s still December and January is coming, so anything can happen with him,” Maresca said (h/t Leeds United News).

It remains to be seen whether Leeds are prepared to sign the player. They need more quality and depth in their attacking line and Sterling could be an interesting acquisition for them.

He has proven himself in the Premier League in the past with Liverpool and Manchester City. There is no doubt that he is a quality player and has won major trophies during his career.

The opportunity to join Leeds United could also be interesting for the player. He wouldn’t want to sit on the bench regularly at this stage of his career. Playing regular soccer in the second half of the season could improve his chances of representing his country at the next World Cup.
Leeds could give him the platform he needs right now.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds make an acceptable offer for Sterling. Chelsea are unlikely to expect a premium for his signature.

If Leeds United can sign him for a reasonable fee, it could be worth a deal. Sterling is a versatile player who can play multiple roles and will add goals and creativity to the side.

Although Chelsea’s attacker has been in poor form and lacks confidence, he has been producing quality performances and with regular football, he may be able to reach his full potential.

The deal is certainly a gamble for Leeds United, but it could be worth a shot. If Sterling can return to form, this deal could be a huge turnaround for Leeds United.
