The Jacksonville Area Golf Association announced the 2025 JAGA Award winners on Dec. 9 at the organization’s annual meeting held at Stillwater Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine.

The Jacksonville Area Golf Association announced that home builder Lennar is the new sponsor of the JAGA Senior Amateur Championship, which will be played for the next three years at the Lennar-developed Stillwater Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine.
The JAGA Senior Amateur is the region’s oldest golf tournament and will be held for its 69th edition May 3-5, 2026.
Matt Kuchar named Junior Presidents Cup captain
matt kucharThe former St. Simons Island, Ga., resident and 2012 Players Champion will serve as the U.S. Junior Presidents Cup captain for the 2026 game, set for Sept. 20-21, 2026, at Medina Courses No. 1 and 2.

Junior Presidents Cup games will be held at Medina No. 3 from September 24th to 27th prior to the Presidents Cup.
The Junior Presidents Cup team will consist of 24 of the world’s top junior male players aged 19 and under. They will compete in six four-ball and foursomes matches on September 20th, followed by 12 singles matches on September 21st.
Kuchar has won nine times on the PGA Tour and has played in the Presidents Cup five times and the Ryder Cup four times.
The last time the Junior Presidents Cup was held in Montreal in 2024, the United States won by defeating the international team 15-9. Miles Russell of Jacksonville Beach, tyler mawhinney fleming island and jackson bird Born on St. Simons Island and plays for the U.S. national team.

Area juniors dominate FJT top 10
led Jiratan Pornchai Four Middleburg First Coast juniors finished in the top 10 in the women’s 9-10 division at the Florida Junior Tour’s Heritage Oaks Open in Sarasota on Dec. 6-7.
