American left-back Antonee Robinson made his first Premier League start of the season for Fulham on Saturday, marking a return to full fitness following knee surgery. Robinson had an operation on his right knee on May 27, just two days after Fulham’s final match of the Premier League season. Since then, he has faced persistent knee pain, limiting him to four appearances this season—including three off the bench in league matches and a start in the English League Cup. His last game prior to this was against Aston Villa on September 28.

Robinson’s inclusion in the starting lineup against Burnley could boost his chances of being selected for the upcoming World Cup, co-hosted by the U.S., as he has yet to participate in any international matches this season.

Associated Press reported.

This news is significant for soccer fans as Robinson has the potential to strengthen the U.S. national team ahead of the World Cup. His return not only enhances individual player depth but also showcases the growing talent within American soccer, which can resonate positively with fans as the tournament approaches.
