Leeds are expected to add manager Daniel Farke to their squad in January, and the winger position is one of the positions they would like to work on. The change to a 3-5-2 in recent weeks has shattered the team’s struggles in this area of the pitch, which is why there is growing demand for a signing or two here.
Noah Okafor was the only confirmed winger brought to Elland Road in the summer, but has struggled since joining from AC Milan. Two goals in 13 appearances is not what he or the club were hoping for as a replacement for last season’s Championship sensation Manoh Solomon.
To address these issues, Leeds may turn to Solomon, who has had his own struggles this season.
Leeds interested in re-signing Manor Solomon
According to SportsBoom (via The Yorkshire Post), Leeds hope to re-sign Solomon in January. The 26-year-old has struggled at Villarreal, where he joined on loan from Tottenham on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Solomon only played 10 games for Villarreal, who preferred to use Alberto Moreiro on the left wing. Tottenham are considering shortening his loan deal, which would open the door for Leeds to sign the player.
Should Leeds re-sign Manor Solomon?
It’s no surprise that Leeds are interested in Solomon given his success last season. They wanted to sign him again in the summer, but in the end the deal fell through and that’s why he ended up staying in La Liga.
Solomon has shown that he is a good player but has struggled at Villarreal. It makes a lot of sense for him to return to Elland Road, but it’s the same for Leeds.
