Newcastle United sold Elliott Anderson to Nottingham Forest, but he has been linked with a return in recent months.

Ross Wilson was Nottingham Forest’s manager when they signed the player from Newcastle, and Wilson is currently Newcastle’s sporting director.

Manager Eddie Howe has always been vocal about his admiration for Anderson and previously admitted he would like to have the player return to the club. Naturally, this has fueled speculation over a possible return to the midfielder’s former club.

Ross Wilson was recently asked if he would be interested in joining the Nottingham Forest midfielder in the future. Wilson added fuel to the fire by claiming he was very fond of the player. It will be interesting to see whether Newcastle make a move to sign him at the end of the season.

“I really like him,” he told the SEAL Gazette.

Anderson has been in great form for Nottingham Forest and is undoubtedly one of the best young midfield talents currently in the Premier League. Bringing him back to the club would be a wise move for Newcastle. However, a large amount of money must be paid to complete the deal. Nottingham Forest wouldn’t want to lose a player like him so easily. In addition, several big clubs are keeping a close eye on his development, and there is likely to be fierce competition to sign him.

The midfielder may prefer joining a big club that can compete for titles and regularly participate in the UEFA Champions League. Newcastle have an ambitious project and a talented team. However, they have not yet reached the level where they can compete with elite clubs. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

They are one of the richest clubs in the world and have the financial power to make the deal happen. They already have quality midfielders in Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton. The addition of Anderson could take them to a whole new level.
