All Aflutter maintained the lead throughout Saturday’s opening race at Remington Park and had to hold off a strong challenge in the final moments to claim victory. The win, against a $5,000 claimer from Oklahoma, earned trainer Federico Villafranco his 1,000th career training victory, along with a $1,000 prize.

Jockey Isaiah Wiseman quickly took All Aflutter to the front shortly after the start of the 6 1/2 furlong race. From an outside post, Wiseman skillfully guided her diagonally to take the rail position, successfully fending off five other older fillies in the process. By conserving energy, All Aflutter was able to resist a fierce late charge from the favorite, Okie Love, finishing just a head in front of the fast-finishing Baba with a time of 1 minute 20.96 seconds.

Villafranco, who trains the 6-year-old Liquor Cabinet (IRE) mare owned by breeders Joan Charlton and Michael Lacy, has reached a milestone after accumulating 999 wins since July 10. This victory was also his first win of the season at Remington Park. Betting at odds of 7 to 1, All Aflutter paid $17.20 to win.
