The High Score 100 ranks the top 100 players in Yahoo’s latest fantasy basketball format based on their performance and production trends throughout the season. Weekly updates highlight which players are delivering value and which are fading away.

Here’s a look at the biggest movers in the rankings through Week 8 of fantasy basketball. The full High Score 100 list is available at the end of the article, with rankings updated every Tuesday during the season.

📈 Risers — Players on the rise:

1. Cooper Flagg, G/FC, Dallas Mavericks: Climbed 12 spots, now 40th overall. The 18-year-old rookie has come alive recently, averaging 24.2 points, 5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 steals while shooting 54% from the field and 82% from the line. He made history Monday as the youngest player to score 40 points in a game, tallying 42 points and 70 fantasy points. Flagg’s aggressive playstyle, including 20 free throw attempts in that game, signals a bright scoring future as Dallas leans more on him.

2. Russell Westbrook, G, Sacramento Kings: Up 8 spots to 53rd overall. Westbrook put on a vintage performance in Week 8 with a 24-12-14 triple-double, scoring 73 fantasy points and ranking as the top-scoring guard. Over the past two weeks, he’s averaged 45.8 fantasy points per game, benefiting from rebounds and assists without being penalized for turnovers, making him a reliable fantasy asset if his minutes remain steady and he stays with the team.

3. Amen Thompson, G/FC, Houston Rockets: Rose 7 spots to 44th overall. Thompson has shown more consistency recently, increasing his average fantasy points per game from 40 to 43. Although not quite at last year’s levels, his improved scoring efficiency and development as a point guard suggest his value will continue to climb.

📉 Falls — Players losing momentum:

1. Nikola Vucevic, FC, Chicago Bulls: Dropped 17 spots to 70th overall. At 35, Vucevic’s role in Chicago’s offense is diminishing, with a career-low PER, reduced usage rate, and declining shooting efficiency. The offense now focuses more on the guards, relegating Vucevic to a supporting role. He hasn’t scored more than 30 fantasy points in four consecutive games.

2. Jaime Jaquez Jr., G/FC, Miami Heat: Fell 16 spots to 85th overall. Jaquez’s performance has suffered noticeably without teammate Tyler Herro, averaging just 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in limited minutes during five games. While not completely out of the picture, his steady decline suggests inconsistent outputs moving forward.

3. Myles Turner, FC, Milwaukee Bucks: Down 8 spots to 96th overall. Turner struggled last week and is nearly out of the top 100, averaging 28.4 fantasy points this season but just 18 over the past two weeks. He’s failed to hit 30 fantasy points in eight straight games. For now, keep him on the bench but don’t drop him just yet.

The High Score 100 offers a clear snapshot of player performance trends throughout the fantasy basketball season. Stay tuned for the next update!

Fan Take: This ongoing ranking is essential for basketball fans who want to track emerging stars and veteran players’ shifts in form, offering deeper insights beyond basic stats. It also reflects how teams evolve their strategies, impacting fantasy basketball dynamics and real-world matchups alike.
