Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move from the Spanish club. He has fallen down the standings and needs to take the next step in seeking regular playing time. According to a report from Team Talk, Tottenham are willing to offer him a way out.

Gugliemo Vicario has been completely inconsistent in making the club shine. He is a quality goalkeeper but struggles to respond to balls in the air. Tottenham need a more reliable goalkeeper and signing the German international could be ideal. He has a wealth of experience and has proven himself for club and national team over the years.

The player has successfully won six La Liga titles, and his championship experience could prove invaluable. Apart from his qualities, his leadership could also prove to be of great use to the club. He is likely to be available for a nominal price in January and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are able to strike a deal.

They want to build a team that can compete for big trophies and the team needs a leader. The German goalkeeper could be very useful both on and off the pitch. The opportunity to move to the Premier League could also be exciting for Ter Stegen.

This could be his last chance to compete at the highest level and he will relish the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League. If he adapts well to English football, he could be a very useful asset for Tottenham in the short term.
