Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has insisted he understands why Mohamed Salah was furious after being left out of the starting XI.

The popular pundit claimed on the overlap show that Egyptian players do not want to sit on the bench and watch inferior players like Kodi Gakpo.

Manager Gary Neville said of Salah, “Salah doesn’t sit and watch Gakpo play football. Their players don’t sit and watch lower-ranked players.”

In such a situation, Neville’s comments would undoubtedly echo the feelings of Liverpool fans. It will be interesting to see if Sara can resolve her differences with the coach and return to the starting lineup. He certainly played a role in the recent game against Brighton and even recorded an assist.

He is a top-class player who has proven his ability in the Premier League for many years. He was undoubtedly one of the best players of the Premier League era and helped Liverpool win every trophy at club level. Liverpool will need to work with him and the manager to sort things out and make sure the player is able to perform at a high level for them. If we want to finish the season well and win trophies, we’re going to need players like him to step up.
