Despite his age, the Germany Under-16 international is already making an impact in Frankfurt’s Under-19 set-up and is reportedly attracting attention from the likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan, Tottenham and Newcastle, but Chelsea’s systematic approach is said to give them an advantage.

Chelsea’s initial offer of £7m for Saint-Etienne sensation Gillian Noguessan has been rejected, with the Ligue 2 club demanding at least £11m for the 17-year-old prodigy, according to reports.
The France Under-20 international represents Chelsea’s latest attempt to raid Saint-Etienne’s youth team, following the £12.5 million signing of midfielder Matisse Amougou in February.
Bruco, who own both Chelsea and RC Strasbourg, adopted a similar trajectory with Amugu, immediately selling him to their sister club in France with a favorable buy-back clause.
Noguessan has dramatically risen to prominence in January when, at just 16 years and four months old, he became Saint-Etienne’s youngest debutant since 1978. L’Equipe also described him as “one of the most promising players of his generation.”
He made eight appearances in Ligue 1 for Saint-Etienne last season before the club’s relegation, displaying great ability that caught the eye during France’s Under-20 World Cup in Chile.
However, relations between the striker’s family and Saint-Etienne have deteriorated significantly.
Nguessan has refused to extend his contract beyond June 2027 despite repeated offers from club owners Kilmer Sports Ventures. His father, Danny Gessan, a former professional who played extensively in England, is also reportedly pushing for a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Brentford have also expressed interest, but Chelsea remain the most active suitor, with a January move for Nguessan looking very likely.
