Liverpool manager Arne Slott wasn’t exactly optimistic about Alexander Isak’s injury in his post-game press conference against Tottenham.

The Reds manager praised Isak’s goal in the win over Spurs, with the Sweden international coming on from the bench and firing home after a great pass from Florian Wirths.

However, Isak soon fell into severe pain and was unable to continue due to his unlucky run with injuries since joining Liverpool.

Arne Slott gives pessimistic update on Alexander Isak’s injury

Slott spoke to reporters after the game and admitted that it’s usually not a good sign when a player comes back and tries to continue playing but can’t, so watch the video below.

Isak clearly had to leave the pitch immediately, although Conor Bradley did that before he was eventually substituted, but Slott also stressed that there was still no more specific medical update…

Isak has struggled since joining LFC from Newcastle United in the summer, and much of that has been down to struggling to stay fit.

The 26-year-old had a turbulent pre-season and has struggled to recover since then, but despite still being able to put the ball into the back of the net today, he was also the victim of a pretty bad attack.

This was the kind of goal Isak really needed to boost his confidence and Liverpool fans will be hoping this doesn’t turn into something serious and that he returns as soon as possible and looks to continue his improved form.
