William Saliba was lucky not to concede a penalty in Arsenal vs. Everton

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba may have been a bit lucky not to concede a penalty against Everton in tonight’s Premier League match.

The France international is normally a solid and dependable player for the Gunners, but there is no doubt that he has had a bit of luck with the following events.

Saliba kicked towards the opponent inside the penalty area, but nothing was given away.

All in all, it might seem a little harsh to award Everton a penalty in this case, but at the same time it’s certainly one of the more controversial decisions you see from time to time.

Will Arsenal aim for another narrow victory?

Arsenal narrowly got past relegation-battling Wolves in their last game, scoring thanks to two own goals, including a near-death goal, which gave them three points.

At the time of writing, Arsenal only beat Everton 1-0 thanks to Victor Gokeres’ goal from the penalty spot, so it doesn’t look very convincing from Mikel Arteta’s side today.

There is still time in this game for Arsenal to add another goal or two, but Everton will probably feel they have a chance to turn things around before the end of the 90 minutes.

Manchester City have looked more convincing in recent games, but Arsenal won’t care too much as long as they are picking up points.

If AFC can get through this period of poor play without dropping too many points, perhaps they will back themselves up to sort out their performance again as the campaign progresses.
