Darren Till Faces Early Exit in Misfits Debut After Swift Defeat by Andrew Tate, Dashing His Pursuit

Darren Till was present at the event but seemed to lose interest during the main fight in Dubai.

Many anticipated the Misfits heavyweight title bout would be a straightforward win, with Chase DeMore pulling off a stunning upset against Andrew Tate. Although it was unexpected for the defending champion to keep his title, the six-round fight did not captivate the audience. Tate’s disappointing debut drew ridicule from UFC legends after the influencer lost to DeMore, who first gained fame on reality TV.

One of Misfits’ top fighters appeared to lose interest as the fight progressed, departing early. Darren Till had a strong showing at the Misfits Boxing 2025 Awards, winning multiple accolades including Finish of the Year, Fight of the Year, and Fighter of the Year after securing three victories with the promotion. Earlier, Till had expressed confidence about a potential return involving former kickboxer Andrew Tate, who retired in 2020. However, the plans shifted when Tate was set to challenge Chase DeMore for the heavyweight title. Many expected “Cobra Tate” to win easily, viewing this as a springboard for bigger challenges. Had a new champion emerged on Saturday, Till might have been favored for recognition given his contributions. Despite this, a video from EzeTalksSports showed Till leaving the arena midway through the fight, possibly signaling he’s no longer interested in facing Tate anytime soon.

On another note, KSI, who took over as Misfits CEO in October, seemed pleased with the weekend’s outcome. Following Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Everton and Tate’s debut loss, KSI remarked on X that “Christmas came early” for him, indicating that the event exceeded his expectations.

Fan Take: This development is significant for fight fans as it highlights the unpredictability and drama Misfits Boxing brings to the sport, shaking up expectations and demonstrating the growing crossover appeal of influencers in combat sports. It may signal shifts in future matchups and fan engagement, pushing the boundaries of traditional boxing promotions.
