West Ham United are looking to strengthen their attack line and have targeted Cruzeiro striker Caio Jorge.
According to GE Globo, West Ham had already made an offer to sign the player, but the offer was rejected. It will be interesting to see if West Ham are prepared to make an improved offer to sign the player. Apparently, they wanted to sign the player on loan with an obligation to buy.
The Hammers are also in contact with the player’s agent. They are prepared to offer a rental fee of 4 million euros, with a further 21 million euros to be paid in debt at the end of the season.
According to reports, the player’s contract would cost more than 25 million euros, but it remains to be seen how the situation will turn out. West Ham need more quality in their attacking line. Signing a striker next month could change things for them. They fail to find the back of the goal on a regular basis and Jorge could be a solid long-term signing for them.
He proved his quality in the Brazilian Championship and has the quality to succeed in the Premier League. The opportunity to move to England would be an exciting one for the player. It would be a step up for him. He wants to prove himself in the Premier League.
West Ham are forced into a fight for survival. They need to fill gaps in their squad during the January transfer window. If they were really interested in Jorge, they would be willing to shell out big bucks for him next month.
