On Synthetic Championship Day at Turfway Park, Godolphin’s Encino dominated from the start, securing a gate-to-wire win in the $247,250 Prairie Bayou (L) race. This marked Encino’s seventh career win and his third on synthetic surfaces at the Florence, Kentucky track, guided by jockey Flavien Prat and trainer Brad Cox. Encino set a brisk pace early, leading from post 8 and maintaining control despite challenges from Horse Power, ultimately winning by one and a half lengths and earning $149,040.

The day also featured strong performances from Caitlin Hargurtness, who won the $219,000 My Charmer, and Minx Palace, who claimed victory in the $250,000 Holiday Inaugural—both races supported by Claiborne Farm. Caitlin Hargurtness, ridden by Prat and trained by Kevin Attard, cruised to a one-and-a-half-length win after making a late surge past the longshot Trial. This victory boosted her career earnings to over $1 million, solidifying her as a top competitor.

Minx Palace made an impressive comeback from the back of the pack to win the Holiday Inaugural, covering six furlongs in 1:09.48 under jockey Walter Rodriguez. The energetic pace early in the race was set by several front-runners, but Minx Palace timed her run perfectly, coming from sixth place to finish strongly and take the win by 2¼ lengths. This triumph increased her career earnings to $657,078.

In the $247,835 Holiday Cheer, Joe Schiesty narrowly defeated favorite Howard Wolowitz in a thrilling gate-to-wire battle. Jockey Fernando Delacruz led Joe Schiesty to victory at a time of 1:09.05, adding $150,280 to the horse’s career earnings and marking the sixth Turfway Park win for the four-year-old gelding.
