Marc Guehy is expected to leave Crystal Palace soon and is rumored to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old came very close to signing for the Premier League champions during the summer, but Crystal Palace pulled out of the deal at the last minute after struggling to find his replacement.

The player is currently scheduled to transfer in January. Due to his contract situation, he could be signed for a nominal price. Crystal Palace will not want to lose him for free at the end of the season.

Unsurprisingly, multiple clubs are monitoring him. According to a report from Sky Sports, Barcelona are interested in the international defender. However, manager Kabe Solgekol revealed that the player has entered into a gentleman’s agreement with Liverpool and will eventually join them. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can get a deal over the line next month.

“We know for sure that they will sign a new centre-back in 2026. Maybe Marc Guehi? I heard that he could sign a gentleman’s agreement with Liverpool and he could sign with Liverpool,” Solhekol said. sky sports news.

“Of course, he almost signed with them until the deal fell through on deadline day in the summer.

“Remember, in January he will be free to talk to foreign clubs and Bayern Munich (and Real Madrid also want him). I think he is also on Barcelona’s target list. Barcelona’s head coach (Hansi Flick) has said that he will also sign a centre-back.”

It’s no secret that they need to tighten up at the back and signing the England international would be ideal for them. Guehi has been one of the Premier League’s most reliable defenders for over a year. He could become a star for club or country. Joining one of the biggest clubs in the world would be ideal for him. He will want to test himself at the highest level and fight for major trophies. Crystal Palace won’t be able to offer him that platform.

He helped them win the FA Cup and Community Shield. This is the perfect time for him to move forward and take on new challenges.

Meanwhile, Barcelona also needs to tighten up at the back. Maybe 25 years old was ideal for them. They are facing financial difficulties and therefore need to find bargains in the market. Signing the Crystal Palace star on a free transfer might have been ideal. It will be interesting to see if they decide to move on to other goals now.
