Caitlin Clark Delivers a Bold Message Before Kelsey Mitchell’s Historic Debut

Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark won’t be playing competitive basketball during this WNBA offseason but is clearly ready to support her teammates as they compete in other leagues. Clark’s 2025 season was limited to just 13 games due to a groin injury, and despite being heavily recruited, she opted out of the 3v3 League Unrivaled. While she skipped this competition in 2025, there was speculation about her participation in 2026. However, Clark is prioritizing her recovery and full health, choosing to sit out the event for a second consecutive year.

Although Clark won’t be competing in Unrivaled, several Fever teammates, including Lexi Hull, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, Aari McDonald, and Makayla Timpson, are participating in the league. Mitchell is making her Unrivaled debut with Hibs BC, one of the newest teams in the league. She recently shared photos in her new jersey and teased her upcoming participation, receiving enthusiastic support from Clark. Mitchell will play alongside Sonia Citron, Ezee Magbegor, Natishan Heedeman, Saniya Rivers, and Mo Billings, with Chicago Sky assistant Lena Wakama as coach. The second season of Unrivaled kicks off on January 5th.

Mitchell’s performance will be closely watched, especially since she led the Fever in scoring in 2025 with an average of 20.2 points per game, shooting 45.6 percent. As for Clark, fans can expect her to cheer on her teammates and possibly attend Unrivaled events in Miami to support her Indiana friends.

Fan Take: This update highlights the promising depth of talent within the Indiana Fever roster and shows that while Clark focuses on recovery, the team’s future remains bright. WNBA fans should be excited to see stars like Mitchell continue to shine in new competitive formats, helping grow the sport’s reach and excitement.
