The Golden Knights celebrated a festive atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena with fans donning Christmas-themed attire as they extended their winning streak against the San Jose Sharks to 12 games with an impressive 7-2 triumph on Tuesday night. Las Vegas dominated early, scoring five goals in the first period—a feat they hadn’t achieved since February 27, 2025—with six different players contributing goals before the holiday break.

Mitch Marner led the charge with two goals, while captain Mark Stone, Colton Sissons, Riley Smith, Brett Howden, and ex-Shark Thomas Hertl also found the net. Goalie Carter Hart impressively stopped 21 shots, boosting his record to 4-1-2 since joining the team. The Knights also prolonged their power play scoring streak to six games, ranking second in the NHL with a 35% success rate since December 11.

The five-goal spree spanned from 1:46 to 18:34 in the first period, with goals coming off Howden, Marner, Sissons, Hertl, and Stone. San Jose’s Macklin Celebrini broke Hart’s shutout hopes midway through the second period, and Colin Graf added a late third-period goal for the Sharks. Goalies Yaroslav Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic combined for 19 saves in net for San Jose.

A pivotal play came early when Brandon Saad intercepted the puck and assisted Keegan Kolesar, who quickly passed to Sissons for a score, making it 3-0 just over 11 minutes into the first period. By the period’s end, 13 of 20 Vegas players had tallied points, totaling 14 points—the highest ever in a single period for the franchise, surpassing the previous record of 11. Marner extended his point streak to three games with three goals in the last two contests, marking his second multi-goal game for the Knights.

The Golden Knights will return to the ice at home to face the Colorado Avalanche on December 27 as part of their ongoing four-game homestand.

Fan Take: This dominant performance by the Golden Knights not only highlights their offensive firepower but also underscores their rising stature as a powerhouse in the NHL. For hockey fans, it promises exciting gameplay and intensified rivalries as the team builds momentum heading into the crucial mid-season stretch.
