Bob Nightengale of USA Today recently reported that in addition to planes carrying coaches, team officials and equipment to the road game, a second plane dedicated to players can be found on the ‘ cost sheet.
“They are the first team to use two planes on all road trips. One is limited to players, but it costs the team at least $6 million.”
Almost a tenth of the Miami Marlins’ total salary this season is what the use to bring players into road games.
The dedication that the organization gives players is not just about contracts, as teams are treated as none other than MLB.
