TGL’s 2026 campaign will feature 15 games played during the regular season before the top four teams advance to the playoffs. The season begins with a championship rematch between New York and Atlanta in December and concludes with a best-of-three final in March.
Some of the biggest names in golf will once again be participating, led by TGL co-founders Tiger Woods (Jupiter) and Rory McIlroy (Boston). Which team will win the title this year?

TGL Golf Team 2026
Six TGL teams will participate in the 2026 season. Detroit’s signature Motor City Golf Club will become the league’s seventh team in 2027.

What does TGL stand for?
Because of Woods’ involvement, many viewers may think TGL stands for “Tigers Golf League.” It actually stands for TMRW Golf League.
TMRW Sports, founded by Woods, McIlroy and former NBC Sports executive Mike McCarley, announced the league’s launch in 2022.
DATE Golf format
A TGL match consists of players covering 15 holes over two sessions. The first session (holes 1-9) is called a “triple” and the second session (holes 10-15) is called a “single”.
Triples is a 3-on-3 format in which players rotate their shots. For example, player 1 tees off, player 2 hits the second shot, and player 3 hits the third shot. The lineup also rotates, so each player can take all kinds of shots. Singles is a head-to-head format with each match covering two holes.

Each hole is worth one point and the team with the most points wins the match. Teams can also throw “hammers” to add one point to the value of the hole, and each team has three “hammers” per match.
If a hole ends in a tie, no points are awarded and teams advance to the next hole. If the match ends in a draw, the teams will face off in the competition closest to the pin.

TGL games will be held at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The venue, located on Palm Beach State University’s campus, was built specifically for TGL games and spans approximately 250,000 square feet.
