  • Trent Alexander-Arnold linked with top Premier League club
  • Real Madrid has no intention of selling Trent
  • Injuries and form prevent Alexander-Arnold from starting at Madrid
    • Real Madrid fans: support exists, but patience is usually thin

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long-awaited dream move to the Santiago Bernabéu hasn’t gone according to script since his high-profile arrival in the Spanish capital.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who controversially joined Los Blancos as a free agent and built bridges with Liverpool fans, was expected to seamlessly take over the right-back crown.

However, a difficult start to life in Spain has already sparked rumors of a quick and surprising return to English football.

Trent Alexander-Arnold linked with top Premier League club

According to a report from Spain’s Defensa Central, several leading players in the Premier League are closely monitoring Alexander-Arnold’s situation at Real Madrid.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all said to be keeping an eye on the move, with reports claiming the trio are prepared to make an offer of around €40 million to bring the defender back to English football in the summer transfer window.

From an economic and financial point of view, such a move would be seen as good business for Real Madrid.

Having signed the 27-year-old for a minimal outlay just a few months ago, the €40 million sale will effectively be recorded as pure profit.

The report suggests English clubs are undergoing a test to see if Madrid’s patience and players’ determination is wearing thin due to their slow start.

Real Madrid has no intention of selling Trent

Despite speculation and obvious financial incentives, Real Madrid are not considering a sale at this stage.

Defensa Central has made it clear that Madrid’s leadership remains fully committed to Alexander-Arnold and will not listen to any offers. Importantly, the player himself is said to be determined to succeed in Spain.

The report stresses that Alexander-Arnold “neither wants to leave” and sees his struggles as part of a natural adjustment period after changing leagues, countries and tactical systems.

There remains a strong belief within the club that his qualities shine, with a source pointing out that “everyone at Madrid trusts him.”

Injuries and form prevent Alexander-Arnold from starting at Madrid

The main reason for rumors of his departure is Alexander-Arnold’s inability to build momentum on the pitch.

His early months in La Liga were interrupted by a series of injury setbacks, which limited his appearances and prevented him from putting together the consistent matches needed to establish himself in Spanish football.

This stop-start pattern inevitably affected his form. Without continued rhythm and fitness, Alexander-Arnold struggles to recreate the influence and control that characterized his best years at Liverpool.

Real Madrid fans: support exists, but patience is usually thin

Although the club’s support remains strong, the Santiago Bernabéu is an unforgiving environment.

Real Madrid supporters are notoriously short on patience, and while Alexander-Arnold continues to enjoy support, expectations are sky-high. Once his injury issues are resolved, he will be expected to produce consistent top-level performances worthy of his contract with the Galactico.
