Three prominent contenders for the 2026 racing season—Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies champion Super Corredora, G1 American Pharoah victor Intrepid, and seasoned G1 winner Furserano—completed timed workouts at Santa Anita on Monday.

Super Corredora and Furserano, both under the guidance of trainer John Sadler, timed five furlongs in 1:00.20. Super Corredora, a Gun Runner filly, is preparing for her third race this season following her Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies win at Del Mar on October 31. Sadler noted that she is “definitely aiming” to start her sophomore campaign in the one-mile Las Bergenes Stakes at Santa Anita on February 1.

Furserano, a six-year-old mare sired by Full Mast, also clocked five furlongs in 1:00.20. She won last year’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and recently placed fifth in her latest race. Sadler indicated that Furserano is a potential candidate for the 1 1/8-mile G2 San Pasqual Stakes on January 31 at Santa Anita, adding that she will need a bit more training before finalizing plans.

Meanwhile, Intrepid, trained by Jeff Mullins, completed five furlongs in 1:03.00. The colt claimed victory in the American Pharoah Stakes at Santa Anita earlier in October and finished fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on October 31, according to Maximus Mischief. Mullins commented that Intrepid’s next steps for his three-year-old season are still undecided.

Fan Take: This update is thrilling for horse racing fans as it highlights emerging stars and seasoned contenders gearing up for the upcoming season, promising intense competition. The performances and training choices for these horses could shape the future landscape of the sport, making 2026 a potentially unforgettable year in horse racing.
