  • Brennan Johnson’s time at Tottenham
  • Johnson will make the final decision.

Tottenham have agreed a deal for winger Brennan Johnson with Crystal Palace.

Johnson has been linked with a departure in January after his playing time was reduced under manager Thomas Frank.

The arrival of Mohamed Kudus has had an impact on his position in the squad, with the Welshman starting just six league games so far.

Johnson wants to leave the club and there is a lot of interest from suitors from within the Premier League.

Of the clubs showing interest, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are the most interested.

Fabrizio Romano posted today that both clubs have approached Tottenham regarding the terms of the player’s contract.

And the transfer expert followed this up with another update, saying Crystal Palace have agreed a £33.5m deal with Tottenham for Johnson.

He added that Bournemouth remain interested, with Sunderland and Everton also making contact in the past 24 hours, while also presenting a project for the player.

All clubs are reportedly willing to pay Tottenham a transfer fee. As Romano said, it will ultimately be the player’s choice.

“Brennan Johnson will decide on his future soon after Crystal Palace agreed a £33.5m transfer fee with Tottenham. Bournemouth also presented a project, and Everton and Sunderland made calls in the last 24 hours. The decision is up to Brennan.”

Brennan Johnson has proven to be a reasonable signing for Spurs, with the Welshman scoring 27 goals and providing 18 assists in 106 games for the club.

His figures across all competitions and levels stand at 74 goals and 36 assists in 268 games.

He played a key role in ending the club’s long-awaited trophy drought last season, scoring the winning goal in the Europa League final against Manchester United.

He finished the season with 18 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.

Johnson will make the final decision.

The decision comes down to what Johnson values most at this stage of his career.

crystal palace: Palace are the clear frontrunners. A move to Palace allows him to remain in London and join a squad desperately in need of attacking reinforcements.

Oliver Glasner’s system relies on pace and direct transitions, so Johnson could quickly become a mainstay on the wing.

bournemouth: The Cherries have proposed an exciting project and will likely see Johnson as a direct successor to Antoine Semenyo, who has been heavily linked with Manchester City.

There will be less pressure than at Palace, but it could go sideways in terms of profile.
