LSU’s Lane Kiffin Shouts Out to Tiger Woods for a Nice Gift appeared first on ClutchPoints.Click here to add ClutchPoints as your preferred source.
Tiger Woods and Lane Kiffin have quite a bit in common. They each attended California-based universities around the same time, have polarizing personalities, have garnered a lot of attention in their respective sports, and both have struggled with loyalty. The two share another similarity as of December 30th. The greatest golfer of all time celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, joining the LSU head football coach at the 50-year-old club. However, it was Woods who gave Kiffin a present that day.

Baton Rouge’s prized recruit publicly thanked the 15-time major champion for sending him several items from clothing company Sunday Red. Kiffin has previously teased that then-Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze spends a lot of time on the golf course, but if he’s interested in trying out for the Louisiana links, he’d ideally dress accordingly.
Hey, maybe these two 50-somethings will play together in the round of 18. However, they may not have as many opportunities to spend their free time as they each have an important year ahead of them in 2026.
Kiffin is tasked with reviving the Tigers’ national championship aspirations after several disappointing seasons. Exploring transport portals and recruiting trails will be an integral part of that mission. He also seeks to obtain land information and quickly build trust with the community. This is something he did very effectively at Ole Miss before his recent retirement. However, patience tends to run out quickly in Death Valley.

While Lane Kiffin will be trying to get LSU football back to being a competitive team, Tiger Woods will look to extend his career as a professional golf player. He underwent disc replacement surgery in October and is gradually working his way back to the PGA Tour. The 2019 Masters champion doesn’t know what his schedule will look like this season, but if he’s healthy, he’s clearly aiming for a major.
For now, Woods has plenty of energy to devote to Sunday Red. He may have just won a new customer for Kiffin. However, given recent events, there is no guarantee that the Tigers HC will loosen the purse strings and purchase additional merchandise.
