Jockey Orlando Mojica secured his 3,000th career win by guiding Charles Garvey’s Logical Mice to victory in the fourth race at Turf Paradise on December 30. Originally from Puerto Rico, Mojica started riding at a young age and later moved to the mainland U.S. to pursue a career following the legacy of his father and older brother, both esteemed horsemen. Throughout his career, he has become a well-known and successful figure at Turf Paradise, as well as regularly competing at Oaklawn Park and various tracks across the Midwest and Southwest.

Mojica has multiple stakes wins under his belt, including victories with Chocolate Kiss in the G3 Honey Bee Stakes at Oaklawn Park and Hot Cha Cha in the G3 Bourbonnet Oaks at Turfway Park. He currently ranks 55th among active jockeys in wins and holds the 195th spot on the all-time jockey wins list, underscoring the significance of this milestone.

Fan Take: This achievement highlights Mojica’s perseverance and skill, inspiring both fans and aspiring jockeys alike. It also brings well-deserved recognition to dedicated riders who contribute to the vibrancy and competitive spirit of horse racing.
