Radu Dragusin has been heavily linked with a move from Tottenham, with the Italian club reportedly interested in taking the defender on loan.

The Romanian international is currently recovering from a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury, but fresh transfer speculation has cast doubt over his future in north London.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has refused to be drawn into the growing transfer speculation surrounding Radu Dragusin.

The centre-back, who recently returned mentally to the pitch after a grueling layoff, has attracted strong interest from Serie A powerhouses including Juventus and Napoli.

Despite reports suggesting Dragusin could leave in January to secure regular football, Frank insists he will remain focused entirely on the player’s fitness rather than market value.

When pressed about rumors of his departure, Thomas Frank chose to highlight the defender’s personal victory over injury, rather than discussing the logistics of the move.

Following Dragusin’s cameo return against Crystal Palace, Frank fended off questions about a possible loan move, saying: “Right now I’m very happy to see him on the pitch after being out for nine or 10 months. It’s a big step for him. That’s the most important thing.”

The narrative surrounding Dragusin is fraught with frustration, given his high-profile appointment.

In January 2024, he famously rejected a move to Bayern Munich in favor of a move to Tottenham, a decision celebrated by Spurs fans.

However, this move did not work out as planned for him.

Between stiff competition from Cristian Romero and Van de Ven, and a devastating anterior cruciate ligament tear in early 2025, Dragusin, who was described as “perfect” by Danny Murphy, has struggled for consistent playing time.

This lack of game time has left his agent constantly questioning his future at Spurs, adding to his current links with a return to Italy, where he previously starred at Genoa.

Recent reports suggest that Dragusin will hold face-to-face negotiations with Frank over his role at the club as he is keen to play regularly.

It will be interesting to see if Frank is willing to accept him into the starting lineup.
