Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly under increasing pressure as West Ham United manager, with Slaven Bilic and Michael Carrick both saying they are open to taking the job.

Journalist Ben Jacobs said he posted the news on X after West Ham’s 3-0 defeat at Wolves.

Remarkably, this was Wolves’ first win of the season, so it’s a shame for both West Ham and Nuno, who hasn’t had the impact he’d hoped for since replacing Graham Potter at the start of the season.

See Jacobs’ post about Nuno’s situation below. He could face a redundancy after his continued form at the London Stadium…

Jacobs said: “Slaven Bilic is prepared to take charge of West Ham midway through the season if a change of manager occurs.”

“Nuno Espirito Santo is under increasing pressure following the 3-0 loss to Wolves. Owner David Sullivan is considering contingency plans.

“Along with Bilic, Michael Carrick is also considered a favorite at West Ham if Nuno is to replace him.”

Can Nuno last long as West Ham manager?

Nuno has won just two games since taking over as Hammers manager and the team currently sit 18th in the Premier League, four points behind Nottingham Forest.

It will be very difficult for Nuno to stay in the job as the club could be on the brink of relegation this season if the situation does not improve soon.

Carrick is a former West Ham player who has also shown potential as a young manager during his career so far and could become a favorite with East London fans.

The former Manchester United and England midfielder made 136 appearances for Middlesbrough, posting a winning percentage of 46.32.

Bilic, on the other hand, previously managed West Ham and although he got off to a good start before falling on hard times and losing his job, they could be a fairly safe pairing on an interim basis.
